Standards

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Current Conformance Status

BrandingStudio.ai is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working towards full conformance.

What We've Built

BrandingStudio.ai includes the following accessibility features.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, Arrow keys)
Visible focus indicators on focusable elements
Logical tab order throughout the interface

Screen Reader Support

Semantic HTML5 elements for navigation and page structure
ARIA labels for key interactive components including dialogs, navigation, and alerts
Alternative text for informational images
Descriptive link text (no "click here" links)
Form labels associated with inputs using standard HTML attributes

Visual Design

Color Contrast: High-contrast dark theme designed to support readability across different visual needs
Resizable Text: All text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
No Color-Only Information: Information is not conveyed by color alone
Responsive Design: Works on screens from 320px to 4K resolution
Dark Mode: High-contrast dark theme (default) reduces eye strain

Forms and Interactive Elements

Clear labels for all form fields
Inline validation with descriptive error messages
Required field indicators on form inputs
Logical grouping of related form fields
Auto-save functionality to prevent data loss

Multimedia

Text alternatives for all non-text content
Captions and transcripts for audio content (brand voice samples)

Transparency

Known Accessibility Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some limitations may exist. We are actively working to address the following known issues.

Current Limitations (Being Addressed)

AI-Generated Images: Logo concepts and mockups may lack descriptive alt text as they are generated from AI prompts
Complex Charts: Some data visualizations (radar charts, donut charts) may not be fully accessible to screen readers
PDF Exports: Generated PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility
Color Palette Generator: The color selection interface relies partially on visual perception; text descriptions are provided where possible
Third-Party Widgets: Some embedded services (Stripe checkout, Clerk authentication) follow their own accessibility standards
Navigation Landmarks: Screen reader landmark navigation is limited to navigation and footer regions; not all page sections are individually identified as landmarks
Dynamic Content Updates: Some dynamic content such as loading states and notification messages may not be automatically announced by screen readers
Administrative Tables: Data tables in the administrative interface may have limited navigability for screen reader users
Color Contrast: Some secondary text elements may not consistently meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio across all pages
